A deep dive into North Las Vegas’s must-visit parks

February 11, 2026 by Anthony Varriano Leave a Comment

North Las Vegas offers a diverse array of parks, ranging from vast regional “destination” parks with amenities like dinosaur-themed play areas to quiet neighborhood spots with shaded picnic areas.

The following guide highlights the best parks in the city, categorized by their standout features.

1. The “Big Three” Regional Parks

These are the largest parks in North Las Vegas, offering the most comprehensive facilities for families and athletes.

Craig Ranch Regional Park

Once a destination golf course, this is now the crown jewel of the city. It spans 170 acres and is famous for its massive skate park, its dog park, and The Amp, an outdoor amphitheater that hosts major concerts and festivals.

  • Best for: Large events, skateboarding, and long walks on paved trails.

Aliante Nature Discovery Park

Commonly known by locals as “Dinosaur Park,” this is arguably the best park for younger children. It features a large lake with ducks, a man-made waterfall, and a sand pit where kids can “dig” for dinosaur fossils.

  • Best for: Families with kids under 10 and nature walks.

Seastrand Community Park

This is the athletic hub of North Las Vegas. If you are looking for organized sports or high-quality fields, this is the place to go.

  • Best for: Baseball, soccer, and tennis.

2. Specialty & Unique Parks

Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument

While technically a National Monument managed by the NPS rather than a city park, it is a primary outdoor destination in North Las Vegas. It preserves the remains of Ice Age animals like mammoths and camels.

  • Best for: Hiking, history, and photography.

Hartke Park & Pool

A community staple that features a public swimming pool (seasonal) and an urban pond often used for community fishing events.

  • Best for: Swimming and urban fishing.
