The City of North Las Vegas launched a citywide survey to collect resident input as municipal officials begin drafting the 2055 Master Plan, a comprehensive long-range blueprint designed to steer capital investments, infrastructure priorities and community development over the next 25 years.
The emerging plan will replace the city’s existing master plan adopted in 2006, reflecting a period of transformative expansion across the municipality. Over the past two decades, North Las Vegas added roughly 100,000 residents, expanding to nearly 300,000 people to become both Nevada’s fastest-growing municipality and its largest minority-majority city.
“North Las Vegas has grown by approximately 100,000 residents since the adoption of our current master plan. The community’s needs have changed, and we want to create a plan that reflects our values today and vision for the future,” Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown said. “I hope the community takes this opportunity to share their priorities and concerns because this plan will ultimately be used to guide how we invest in our neighborhoods, strengthen public services and shape the city’s path for years to come.”
Once finalized, the 2055 Master Plan will establish policy frameworks and development guidelines for neighborhood revitalization, diverse housing options, roadway and transit mobility, commercial development, parks and recreational open space, environmental sustainability, and community health and safety initiatives.
The public survey marks the initial phase of a broader, yearlong community engagement campaign that will feature neighborhood outreach events, stakeholder forums and public workshops. Alongside public feedback, city staff members are partnering with an external planning and design consulting firm to analyze regional economic conditions, evaluate demographic shifts, and examine existing infrastructure and environmental factors across the city.
Residents can complete the survey online and follow ongoing updates regarding the long-range planning process through the municipal website at cityofnorthlasvegas.com/masterplan. The survey will remain open through mid-November.
